    I studied psychology as an undergraduate at Michigan State University, with a focus on Interdisciplinary Health Studies.

    Dual Diagnosis

    I helped establish the Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment Team at North Country CMH and have extensive training in IDDT philosophy and methodology.

    Mental Health

    I have worked as a mental health professional since 2002 in public and private settings. I have been through several evidence-based practice trainings, such as Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Illness Management and Recovery, Family Psychoeducation, Solution-Focused Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

    I have many years of experience working with groups, such as the Men Exploring Non-violent Solutions (MENS) group facilitated by the Women's Resource Center, LGBTQ support groups, and general process groups.


    Since 2013 I have worked in the HIV/AIDS field as a manager and mental health professional. I am currently working on a Care Coordination project through the State of Michigan to expand our current services and build an HIV Care Network of providers across northern Michigan.

    I have been an advocate and clinician for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer populations since high school. I have nearly 20 years of experience working in this field. Currently, I am a recognized provider for referral letters to the University of Michigan Comprehensive Gender Services Program.
